(Chicago, IL - May 12th, 2023) MIDAS by Saint Romanov, premiered Friday, May 12th, 2023, on all music streaming platforms. The industrial rock anthem was recorded entirely on tape - engineered and produced by Electrical Audio engineer and Brazillian-metal producer, Pedro Canaan, at the 33 Ida B Wells Studio in downtown Chicago.
Embracing the fierce intensity of industrial rock, this powerful track delves into a mesmerizing world of sound, centered around the mythical tale of King Midas. Each verse and chorus radiates with an unyielding passion, symbolizing the desire for an all-encompassing connection that transcends the limitations of the ordinary. With blistering guitar riffs, thunderous drums, and pulsating synths, the song paints a vivid sonic landscape. The track was produced and engineered entirely on tape by renowned São Paulo producer Pedro Canaan, an associate engineer at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio and founder of the São Paulo-based label, Kalindi Music.
MIDAS is Saint Romanov’s first solo release since his debut EP: Left Handed Cigarette in March 2022 and follows his collab release: Arrogant with Chicago rapper QLAW last October. Romanov will celebrate the release by playing a slew of live shows at punk venues throughout the Chicagoland area. Additionally, Romanov will release a short documentary on Instagram, Youtube, and Tik Tok covering the unique tape recording process of MIDAS and his next release sistine, scheduled for release on all music streaming platforms, on June 2nd, 2023.
